Just like all the other Dan Fogelberg fans, I've
bought all of his records and then of coarse had to buy
them all on CD also, and have seen him in concert every
time he has come to our city. The best concert I have
ever seen in my life was in a small venue here in Omaha,
with Dan and his band, I just wished the evening would
never end!
One question I ask my wife and alot of my friends, is; If
you were stranded on an island and could only listen to
one music group or singer, who would it be? Of coarse my
answer is Dan Fogelberg.
The song "Leader Of The Band"really touches me
personally, as my father and I are in the same field of
work, and I know I will never live up to being as good as
he is. The lyrics of the song really hits home, as do
alot of his songs!
I am really glad I stumbled onto this site the other day,
I've been wondering when the next new albumn as going to
come out! I can't wait for the boxed set now!
Thank's for giving us fan's a place to keep current on
what is happening in Dan's career.

This note is for any/all Dan fans planning to attend
the Indianapolis concert, June 24. Myself and another fan
are considering a pre-concert gathering of some sort. If
you would be interested in attending, drop me an e-mail
and we'll take suggestions on the best way to
celebrate/share Dan's music.

Hi Dan,
My husband and myself are hoping to meet up with some
on-line friends at the Hard Rock in Vegas. Can't wait to
see you again. This will be 14 times for me and Mike (my
husband) has been 9 times. At the last concert in Phoenix
at the Gammage Auditorium, October 11 '95, Mike even
tried to bribe your limo driver. He was so excited for
me. He thought he was gonna make my wish come
true..............After sharing about 45 minutes laughing
and having fun with the driver, his sidekick, and the few
other fans that were still waiting;they radioed him to
back down the drive to pick you up. You got in and off
you went ........right on by...........??????????? :(
Another lost chance of not getting to say face to
face"Thank you for the years of music!" to my
favorite,most talented writer/musician. But I won't give
up. I'm a believer and my lucky stars say I will some day
get to meet you..........And hey it's been a hell of a
lot of FUN trying. My husband might feel differently
about that but he has been very patient!!!! Until Hard
Rock I'll be anxiously awaiting the BOX SET !
Thanks Dan ...You are the GREATEST!!!
Kay
Dan Fogelberg,
Just wanted to thank you for helping me
through a rough spot in my life through your music. In 94
I went to the River of Souls concert while vacationing in
Orlando simply because I wanted to hear you perform
Longer - it had been played at my wedding. The wound of
my father's death was still raw, and I was expecting a
child he would never know. When you played Leader of the
Band it struck a chord with me and I cried openly in
public - something I had never done before. When I
returned home I started to play that song frequently in
my car and it really helped the grieving process. Finally
I can listen to the song without crying, and realize that
life goes on.
Thank you for the music,
Barb
Hey there!
Thanks for sharing the good, the bad and the ugly with us
for so many years. Without knowing so, you have
been there with me through mine, for 23 years. When my
heart is full of sadness, I listen to your music. In your
hands, my blood flows clearly and without
restraint. My soul is the lucky recipient of the
blood you have shed for each song. With the fusing of
this, I am filled with a renewed sense of
awareness. Some kinda drug you are peddling, my
dear!
After a many checkered life; one divorce, one separation,
one tentative reconciliation and two beautiful sons (one
of whom is named Dan...after his father and...), I am now
a writer of literary fiction. Your music is one of
my muses and I thank you for that as well. While my
tastes in music are quite eclectic, I find myself coming
home to yours when my mind needs a jolt of reality,
sensuality and responsibility. My genre is much
like yours, I write about what I see in this life.
Not all is beautiful, nor is it neatly wrapped into a
pretty package. Ah, if only it was. Na, then what
the hell would we write about?
While you deal with your personal problems with your
wife, I hope you find peace in the music of others and
that which you will undoubtedly create. God knows that we
artists need turmoil for the catharsis that IS our
craft. I send you a wish filled with love, hope and
renewal. May your seas be calm, may the wind be at
your back and may the songs of the sea find their way
into your soul. When all else fails, I hope you
find a nice bottle of Scotch to warm that chill that is
ever present in those of us who search to dig deeper into
their own neurosis to produce that which others so
resoundly appreciate. If only they
knew....
Forever appreciative,
Pam
P.S. Don't be surprised if you soon see a book of short
stories dedicated to you...among others, of course!
Got tickets for the cohasset show on june 28....looking
forward to it....would love to meet anyone else going on
that might....please pass along.....thanks..

Hello Dan, I've been a fan since the very early days, and
yes, I have all the albums and CD's. Personal favorites
are Innocent Age and Twin Sons. I had the opportunity to
see you in concert recently in New Orleans (my birthday
present!!;) I'd just like to thank you for all the
wonderful music over the years. It has been a pleasure to
grow up with you, fall in love with you and see the world
through your eyes. I used to work as a nurse in Labor and
Delivery at a local hospital. One of the Obstetricians
was a huge fan of yours and he would play your music
during all the C-Sections. All those mommies would go to
sleep listening
to your voice, and the first thing those babies would
hear in this world was your voice. Wouldn't you know that
it was mostly the Innocent Age! Keep up with the
music for us and please come back to New Orleans
sometime!

Mr. Fogelberg,
I am sorry to hear that
your marriage did not work out. I hope everything works
out for the best. (That's my patented saying for that
kind of situation.) Anyhow, on to the good stuff.
My husband and I just received
our tickets for your concert at the Wolf Trap Theater in
Vienna, Virginia. We are both happy to hear that you have
recovered/regained mobility in your finger. We had
tickets to see your show at Valley Forge Venue in
Pennsylvania last fall but returned them after you
cancelled the concert. We look forward to hearing you
perform again (We saw you at Merriweather Post Pavillion,
Maryland, in September several years ago.
I always meant to send you a Thank You note - sounds
silly I know. But your songs make me remember similar
events in my life and alternately make me laugh and
cry.
I enjoy the way your recent
albums have reflected a comfortableness with God and
life, and I hope you continue to be as happy as your
songs suggest.
Again, my husband and I look
forward to seeing you in concert.
Thank you,
Lisa Millford
Dear Dan,
I think it's important when someone adds meaning to your
life that they know it. So here goes.
Although we've never met, you & I go back a long way
(longer than I'm sure either of us care to
remember). I first heard "Part of the
Plan" in college playing from the stereo of the man
of my dreams, or so he seemed at the time. Since
then I've seen friends pass away or drift away (including
the aforementioned man of my dreams) from inumerable
causes. I've lived in 7 different cities.
Sometimes it's been
sad, mostly it's been a great adventure with lots of
wonderful people along the way. And you were there
to share it -- helping me cry in the sad times, reminding
me to celebrate the good times and providing a friendly,
familiar voice with sage advice in every new city when I
didn't know a soul. I've looked forward to every
new addition to my collection. Here's hoping they
keep on coming until we are both a very ripe old age.
Sue
I just wanted to say how disappointed I was that he will
not be coming to Pittsburgh this summer. Dan,
I'm sorry I will miss seeing you.
Denise
Dear Dan Fogelberg:
Dear Dan,
Your music has always been very special to
me, and I appreciate the opportunity to let you know.
Captured Angel was the first album I heard, and the
lyrics spoke directly to my angst-ridden heart.
Now that I have teenagers of my own, I
have even fonder memories of your music. I haven't heard
much of the new stuff, but the early songs defined who I
was (and am).
You give much joy to people. May you
experience the same joy.
Thank you.
Sue
Hi! We just wanted to say thank you,
Dan, for sharing your gift of words and music! We are
thrilled to see that your 1997 tour will bring you back
to Massachusetts. See you in Cohasset! We never miss you
when your tour brings you here.

I'm fairly new to the internet and I
was thrilled to find this page. I started listening to
Dan when I was in 8th grade(1974). My older sister had
Homefree and I fell in love then. Dan's music has seen me
through the best of times and the worst. I played his
music during puppy love and during true love. I played
him at my wedding and during the birth of my first and
second child (His music is great to listen to during hard
labor!). I sing Dan songs to my little ones when it's 2
am and they won't sleep. (Is this giving you any ideas
for a lullabye album?) My first born son is named Daniel
(well, okay, he does have two grandfathers by that name,
but I couldn't resist--I named him after Dan Fogelberg
too) I've seen him in concert many times. The best
concert was an outdoor concert at The Toledo Zoo
Ampatheater--just Dan and his instruments. His music is
beautiful and sensitive and it makes you feel good. I can
only imagine what it must feel like to have a talent that
effects so many people. You have truely been blessed,
Dan. May you always have words in your heart and music in
your soul and peace in your life.

I have just discovered this web page
dedicated solely to the greatest musician and songwriter,
in my opinion, alive today and I am thrilled to know that
I will be able to stay abreast on all the latest
happenings with him. Dan, I don't know if you actually
ever take the time to read these letters, but if you do,
you are incredible. My wife and I have seen you in
concert three times; once at Red Rocks with the band,
once at Red Rocks without the band(both amazing
performances), and once at a taping of the E-Town Radio
Program in Denver. My wife and I are now preparing to see
you again this summer on July 6 in Atlanta, GA(we'll be
attending Jimmy Buffet's concert on July 5, what a
weekend this is going to be). Please try not hurt
yourself again this year, we were pretty disappointed
about having to miss you last summer in Atlanta. Anyway,
I will not continue to ramble but I want you to know we
are avid fans,we have all of your albums, and we are
really looking forward to the next. By the way, when will
this happen?! Please keep up the great work!!!

Hi. I'm Dave C., 38, and in Dallas,
Texas. I first heard a Dan song at a Colorado State
University slide show that was being presented by a
couple of mountain climbers at Edwards Hall in 1979. The
song was 'Gambler'. I had just transfered from a N.Y.
community college to CSU in Fort Collins and had never
even heard of Dan Fogelberg. Well Dan was big at CSU in
1979 and from the very first chords I heard that night of
"Gambler" I fell in love with his music and I
have spent alot of my life the last 18 years accompanied
by the lyrics and melodies of Dan's songs. I don't know
if it is me doing something consciously or not but so
many of my life experiences I seem to be able to find
direction or meaning from Dan's music. I just recently
went through a bitter divorce and custody battle in which
I won full custody of my kids and relocated to Texas. It
was a hectic time in my life and I haven't had any
leisure time for almost 2 years, But just 5 days ago I
was going through my possessions and found a Dan
Fogelberg tape that I made in 1980 and I popped it in the
tape deck and I instantly found my inner peace again. I
saw Dan a couple times in the early 80's but not since.
He played at Moby Gym on the CSU campus and it was the
best concert I have ever been to. I want to see him again
so bad. I hope I can either get to his July 3 concert in
Syracuse N.Y. or his July 25 at Redrocks in Denver. I
just wanted to share with everyone my great admiration
and love of Dan and his music. See you in the crowd. P.S.
My favorite Dan Songs these days are "False
Faces" and "Last Nail' but I also still love
"Gambler" and also "Hickory Grove'.

My name is Manuel Laboy and I'm a big
fan of yours. I can say you are one of the greatest
singers. I like your songs like Longer, Hard to say, Run
for the roses, Leader of the band, and a lot more.
Well, the reason that I'm writting is
because I want to tell you that my life has changed for
good. I have received Jesus Christ as my Savior, Lord,
God and King. He has given me a new life, a new heart and
a new road to follow. It's amazing and incredible! Wow!!!
Now I'm free and happy and I have hope and love in my
soul and and in my heart. I know He can change your life
if you just give Him a chance.
Dan Fogelberg has a great talent. You are
a great musician and singer. You can sing for Jesus. You
can play music that proclaims the glory, love and mercy
of God. I know God wants to bless your life and your
family too with love, salvation and joy.
Today is the day of your salvation in
Jesus. Right now, I just want to do God's will. One of
the things I'm doing is to hear christian music only. But
I want to hear great music like yours. I'm praying for
you, Dan Fogelberg. I'm asking God to knock in your heart
and save you.
Another thing is that, if you didn't know,
Lou Gramm gave his heart to Jesus and now he sings for
the Lord Jesus. Ex-Kansas Kerry Livgren and John Elefante
are christians and love Jesus with all their hearts. They
do christian music for God like Petra, Steven C. Chapman,
and others who decided to walk with God.
It would be so wonderful to hear the news
that Dan Fogelberg gave his heart to Jesus Christ and now
sings and play music only to glorify and praise the name
of the King of kings, Lord of lords, Jesus Christ our
God. I'm going to keep praying for you.
God bless you and your family with the
true love of Jesus,
Manuel
Well, I just had to respond to the accused "dork" in the last letter. He is a very good friend of mine, and I must say, he has been mercilessly teased for being a Dan Fan, but not from me! I appreciate Dan's work as a musician who can speak to the soul, which is where my music lives. And it's true, Amanda was born 9 months after the 10/1/93 concert, which my husband and I attended with her parents! (We were asked to leave the hotel room following the concert...I guess we were in the way!) But our daughter was born six days after Amanda, so the magic must of have lingered...thanks, Dan!
I have been a fan from the
early day on. His lyric can stand alone, but, oh, when
those gifted hands play and that golden voice moves
through the air, mmmmmm, it is poetry in music. If the
the eyes are the windows of the soul, and I look into
his, I see a tortured spirit and a captive soul. Yet, his
music gives him constant rebirths! I imagine his art is
much the same. "Love when you can, cry when you have
to." "One day we'll all understand"! I can
relate!
Keep up the exellant job!

Oh, where to begin. I knew of Dan back
in the 70's when my older brother was very much into his
music. I remember I had bought my brother concert tickets
to see Dan, for his birthday. He took another of my older
brothers with him and, not only had I gotten them second
row seats, but, Dan came out alone on the stage and said
"I hope you don't mind, but I sent the band home
early". Needless to say, my brothers were in awe. I
was happy for them, but, I did not have a clue how they
could be so moved. Now, here it is twenty years later and
I'm the one who is awestruck by Dan's music. My brothers
are not into him any longer and yet, they can at least
appreciate how very much I cherish his songs. I first
really "heard" Dan's music in 1985. I had just
gotten divorced and was dating for the first time in
fourteen years. I was coming home from a date when, out
of his tapeplayer I heard "The Last To Know" I
couldn't believe how much that song sounded like what I
had just gone through. When the gentleman told me it was
Dan Fogelberg, I just had to hear more. I went and bought
a couple of his tapes, Netherlands being one and, again,
I was mesmerized by the music. Then, I bought Exiles.
Well, needless to say, that did it for me. This man could
actually touch your soul! I purchased every single album
he had ever done. Then, I saw him in concert on the
Exiles tour. I had fourth row and I took one of my
brothers, Robert, and his wife. That was where I heard
Forefathers for the first time. In all honesty, I sat
there crying as he finished the song. I couldn't wait for
his next album and so hoped that Forefathers would be on
it. I feel he just keeps getting better and better. I
read in an interview that he will not tour past 50. Well,
I will be forty nine when Dan is fifty and I know that I,
for one, would stand in line for hours to buy a ticket to
see him and not as a "has-been from the 70's"
or a "nostalgia act". I honestly believe that
"River of Souls" is his best yet and I didn't
think anything could pass "Netherlands". I
await his next release most anxiously.
Two things more that I would like to
add:
1. Someone else's letter had mentioned
children. They had asked how could Dan write Forefathers
and not want to have children. I must say that I agree
with them. Yes, Dan and Anastasia, there are too many
children in the world; however, did you ever consider
adoption? If you could see the most beautiful little girl
that God has given to my husband and me, through another
who was unable to care for her. My precious daughter,
Mary, is now six years old and listens to Dan in the car
with me. She even knows the words to "Holy
Road". And, that other writer who I mentioned
earlier, knows what she is talking about when she said
that there is no way you will ever know how much your
mother or father truly loved you, until you have a child
of your own. I am just so happy that my mother lived to
see my daughter, and for me to tell her that I finally
knew all of the love she had felt for me all those years.
As you did with your dad, I was lucky to have the time to
tell my mother how very much I loved her.
2. I had fron row seats to the last
concert that was cancelled. Dan, I know you were injured
and I felt so bad for you. But, I must be honest and say
that I felt worse for me. My brother, Robert, and his
wife were given front row seats fromThe Oakdale Music
Theater because they had been given terrible seats at a
recent concert. The management were very understanding
and asked if there were any future acts that they would
wish to see. As there were not, they said "Dan
Fogelberg" for me and hoped that they might get a
good seating. When the tickets arrived, my sister-in-law
could hardly wait to show them to me. I had ordered my
tickets through her also so, when she called me and said
my tickets were in, I raced over to her house. My brother
had the funniest look on his face and my sister-in-law
said "I'm sorry, but your tickets aren't that great;
so, we are giving you ours - they're front row center! I
could barely breath waiting for that concert and the fact
that it was a solo concert was even more than I could
hope for. And then, well we all know ... the rest is
history. Unfortunately, the tickets had to be turned in
and I doubt very much I will ever be that blessed
again.
Hope to see you soon anyway Dan!

My name is Gabriel and first of all I'd
like to thank you for your excellent work about
Fogelberg. I would like to share with all of you what I
consider the best thing that ever happened to me. I am a
recording engineer, musician , songwriter and needless to
say I am a Dan Fan since I heard LONGER (you should
understand that I live in Ecuador South America and that
was the only hit we ever heard from Fogelberg down here).
I am 33 now, and at that time around 1979, I was totally
blown away by this wonderful tune and voice, and as many
of us I suppose, I was already a Beatle fan, but, THIS
was different. Unfortunately no other info was available
for me until I had the chance to go to Miami in 1986 and
the first day I went to Specs and bought all the albums
by Fogelberg. I can say that for me it was like...
Beatles is great but, with Fogelberg "I AM"
that's it "I AM". Dan has the abillity to
express all of our emotions in such a way that I must
admit I hear his music ever since, almost every day, but
these feelings are better expressed in the other letters
found in your page by Dan Fans. Back in 94, I was in LA
and went to a record store and found this paper that
announced a Fogelberg show in Orlando. I flew to Orlando
and bought I went to see the show, the best concert I
have seen in my life (River of souls tour) and obviously
I went backstage waited for 3 hours and Dan appeared on
the other door and left us with our pens and papers
empty. The fans were angry and they said he was always
like this that he had no respect for his fans but i knew
in my heart they were wrong . You can't judge a person by
one act furthermore if he has given you such wonderful
times with his music. Next year my best friend that lives
in Miami informed me that he gave a solo acoustic show in
Miami (Broward center for the Performing Arts). I flew to
Miami bought the ticket again this time armed with my
camcorder and camera. The show was excellent, he oppened
with Nexus (wow). and I filmed "the Reach" with
my camera. Again I went backstage, waited 4 hours and
when there were only 5 people waiting, he appeared. I was
shocked, he came downstairs and said hello to all of us
and began to take the pens and signed. He was by my side
and when he was signing the 3rd autograph I mumbled
"Dan, I came from South America today just to see
you". He stopped signing, turned to me and he
couldn't believe it. He said "really , where are you
from" I said "Ecuador", he didn't seem to
know where my little country is and I said "...you
know the Galapagos Islands...", his eyes oppened
wide and he shouted "Really?..Anastatasia...
Anastasia.. " she came down from the limousine and
he said " he comes from the Galapagos islands!"
. All the other fans were forgotten, apparently they had
always wanted to come to the islands, and we talked for
more than half an hour the 3 of us like old friends about
music, horses,my desire to record a cd and dedicate it to
him, Anastasia was urging Dan to come to South America
for touring, he wasn't very sure about it, I offered them
my house, etc.. and I can state this was " The best
experience of my life". We promised to stay in touch
but that has been imposible because they said that I
should contact Nina Avramides, their manager in CA which
I did , but I have sent many letters and gifts to them
ever since, and I have had no response, I suppose Nina
considers that this will bother Dan... I don't know. Dan
and Anastasia are sincere, simple, down to earth, nice
people. I took some nice photos from Anastasia and Dan if
anyone is interested. Regards

Dear Dan,
Like so many others, I've found all the
emotions of life in your music, and all the emotions of
your music in my life.
After my father died, "Leader of the
Band" took on new meaning as I dealt with the pain
of losing a Dad whose love, kindness, and knowledge had
always lighted my way.
During my divorce, so very "weary of
the battles," I nearly wore out my
"Exiles" CD.
I hear "...she gave a kiss to me as I
got out..." and wonder where my old girlfriends are
and hope they're well and happy.
The beauty and wonders of "The
Innocent Age" album helped me understand and
appreciate this wonderful journey we all share.
I have a deeper appreciation for the ways
of those who have endured so much at the hands of those
who took their lands, and I strive for the courage to
"...leave the footprints of a warrior..." in my
own walk through life.
And I too, through the fortunes of fate,
have finally found "Anastasia's Eyes" in a
beautiful woman, who gave me the privilege of her hand in
marriage and is the most giving, caring, loving person I
have ever known.
Years of laughter, comfort, nostalgia,
reflection, and most of all the courage to stay on
"...the path of the heart as opposed to the path of
convenience..." - this has been your gift to me and
millions of others.
For all that, all I can offer is a
heartfelt "thank you." May you always have the
blessing of your family, your talent, and the joy of
knowing that you have touched the lives of so many so
well.
Russell
Dear Dan,
I started listening to you when I was
sixteen, mixed up and lost. Your music helped me through
those years and now at 36 with two boys of my own, the
words still move me. Thank you for your music and showing
us that there is stil "a place in the world for a
Gambler".

Dear Dan,
I'm attempting in some way to express
originally, without fawning, my highest appreciation for
your music. I really can't tell you effectively how much
of a true comfort your music is in my life. Your music
practically represents my childhood...my visions of the
past seem to play through my mind accompanied by your
music. Though I'm only seventeen, the expressions of
freedom and...and life and...and hope...that your art
brings to me are clear.
I have long wished to visit Colorado, with
its beautiful mystery and promise. Pictures clutter my
wall with mountains and streams and all the things that
Florida lacks. My dream is actually (can you believe it?)
to live there when I get older, to have a cabin in the
mountains with fresh air...and all that spirit of life. I
guess I've answered myself; your music puts my own life
into perspective. It reminds me about all the trivial
things, but most importantly the continuing necessary
effort to live life to the fullest.
I seem to have become a bigger enthusiast
of your music than my parents, who introduced, if you can
call it that, me to you. There never seems to be a memory
I have that doesn't involve your art. I know that I don't
know you as a person, and you may be thinking "how
can this kid feel this way?" Well, I a m familiar
with your music. Though most of it is before my time, it
lets me have a mature outlook on life, which so many
young people of my age lack. The music has made me
strong, yet softhearted; it has opened my eyes (both
forward and backward!) yet made me hopeful. Just the
sheer issue of "No Resemblance... ", a parallel
to my favorite album, "Twins Sons...," was
enough to make me realize that you are not done
fulfilling your dreams and goals. I truly hope you
continue making music for as long as you can. I know, at
least, that what you have already accomplished will never
die.
I have never even seen you in concert, and
by sheer coincidence found Pete's site. I probably
couldn't think of anything so exciting, though. I am
looking for the "Greetings..." tape, but I
guess to no avail. They must be all gone...
Again, thank you for all you have done for
me, as I'm sure you have done for all these other Dan the
Man enthusiasts. I hope my children enjoy your art as
much I have, and will continue to.
God Bless,
Jason

Greetings,
I have been a fan of Dan Fogelberg since
75 when introduced to his music by my girlfriend.
Although we are no longer togeather, we occasionally talk
remembering the innocent past and the music that inspired
some great times. Mr. Fogelberg remains at the top of the
list as the musician who we grew to admire.
I am aware that I cannot converse with Mr.
Fogelberg by e-mail, but this is my way of thanking him
for fond memories everytime I hear his music.
I also like quizzing people as to
"Who's the background singer" on most of his
songs.
Again, thank you for this web page and
thank you Mr. Fogelberg for all you inspired in my
earlier years.
Bob Mycroft
Dear Dan,
It is really hard to express in a few
words things that only songs can tell. I would like to
express all my gratitude to you for your music that meant
so much to me during these years. I am 40, self-taught
guitarist and I write songs in english since 1972 and
your music has always been my first inspiration. I am
italian and here it is very hard to collect your records
and news about you but fortunately I have good channels
with USA. I have never had the pleasure to see your live
performances (but for the video): I missed one of your
concerts in L.A. in 1991 for only 1 day! Hope to be
luckier for the future! I have heard about your injury:
hope it can be easy for you to be performing again very
soon. Thank you forever. Paolo Giorgi
To Dan:
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm not
proficient enough with words to express to you how much
your music and lyrics mean to me. I "found" you
(thanks to a friend) during my sophomore year in college
(1978), and have been a devoted fan ever since. I collect
quotations, and your songs (all of them?!) are among my
favorites! I look forward to seeing you at the Garden
State Arts Center (now the PNC Art Center) in New Jersey
every time you perform; I've missed you these past couple
of years! I sincerely hope you've recovered from your
injury and will grace us with your talent this summer.
Please record more and more and more -- we can't get
enough!
Krys
To Dan:
I don't know if you check out this page,
but I just want to express my thanks for more than 30
years of great music and the memories that music has
produced for me. I still play A LOT of your songs, and
loved your recent "single acoustic" tour. I
only wished more artists like you did smaller venues
because so much of your music really connects in intimate
settings. But I certainly can appreciate the need to
rock-out sometimes

Dan:
Just wanted to drop a note to thank you
for 25 years of great music. In 1976 I was a senior in
high school and had an opportunity to audition for a
small coffeehouse in the Indianapolis area. I learned a
lot of your music, along with some Eagles, Jackson
Browne, Mason Proffit, Neil Young and James Taylor. I've
been a major fan of yours ever since! Now, 20 years later
whenever I play somewhere, your music gets a great
response from the audience. Thank you for writing,
recording and performing such incredible music.

Dear Dan,
This is so great to be able to e-mail you
a message. I hope that you actually will be reading this
letter. I am a great fan of you and your music. I hope
that you continue to produce music for many years. I have
all of your CD's and have seen you in concert in the
Chicago area many times. So sorry to hear about your hand
injury. Best of luck to you. You are a wonderful
musician.
Your friend,
Nancy
I am so glad of seeing this page. From
more than twenty years I haven't find anyone that even
knows about Dan Fogelberg. In this time, his music has
been with me in every moment. I have studied classic
guitar; I use to play Dan' songs with a brother of mine;
we have always been enchanted by the richness of his
music and lyrics. I remember specially listening my
favorite album, 'The Innocent Age', while long car
travels by central Spain, at sunset, and singing myself
'The Reach' at full volume ... What a magic moments! I
really envy you all, that had listen to Dan in concert,
you are so lucky! In 1976, when I bought 'Souvenirs', I
was working as a prof photographer. I appreciated very
much the work of Paul Strand and Alfred Stieglitz, and
also the very special relation he had with Georgia
O'Keefe. Now, I just have read from your page that
O'Keefe is the Dans's most admired artist, and even his
relation with Anastasia Savage, that lived with her...
Life is unexpected, and everything finishes by being
connected...
Dan, if you ever read this page and you
want to send me an address where I can write you (even in
an anonymous way, I know you want to preserve your
intimity), I would be so glad of sending you a photograph
of mine as a present for the gift of your music. I find
no other way of telling you the deep value of your poetry
has had to me all this years.
I can not find in Spain nor France the
albums 'Windows and Walls', 'High Country Snows' and 'No
Ressemblance Whatsoever'. Can anybody help me with a
postal exchange ? Thank you so much !
A happy new year to everybody; as you see,
we Dan Fogelberg music lovers are in touch all over the
world...! And, please, excuse my poor english.
See you.

Dan,
I thought you would like to know that I
have been an admirer and fan of your music for over 20
years. You should know that you have gained some mew fans
in my home. My children! I have three sons ages 11, 9,
and 6. They love your music and listen all the time. Two
of my sons play guitar and always ask me to teach them
your songs. I have been playing the guitar since I was
very young and spent most of my time learning your music.
It gives me great joy to pass it on to my children and
see them appreciate your wonderful talents. Dan, thank
you for all the years of listening pleasure.

Greetings Dan,
It was 1979 when after hearing an album
that one of my college roommates had that I decided I had
to learn how to play the guitar. The song was The Last
Nail and now an accomplished guitar player of 18 years I
still play it once a week. Now I find myself trying ever
so hard to play the piano, and my abyssmal version of
"Next Time" is all I can get out.
I've been to far too many concerts to
count, from the McGuinn, Clark, and Hillman ensemble on
the Boston Common, to the intimate "one Man
Show". I havent been to one since the Great Woods
concert here in Boston many years ago, because I too felt
verbally insulted by the way you both take your fans for
granted belittling them at all chances (I remember a fan
calling out for you to play Dancing Shoes, and you
responded "where the hell have you been for 20
years"), and preach the gospel about how the skummy
republicans are destroying the tundra (We republicansd in
the front row paid $120 for our tickets). Hopefully
you've worked out your attitude problems because your
music, your poetry and your talent are like none other
who has ever walked on this planet. You have meant moe to
me, my
